Fountain History

Fountain Colorado, the quaint township high in the Rockies, has grown into one of this region's finest residential and commercial communities since its establishment in 1859. Fountain Creek, as it was formerly called, was first a frequented locale of French explorers and settlers. Those first Frenchmen named the area, La Fontaine qui Bouille, or "the spring that boils." When American developers began to stake their claim in this land during the early 1950's, they changed the name to something more inviting; a name that was to stick to this very day, Fountain. By 1965, little over a hundred years since its proper induction, Fountain was receiving more notice than ever after developer Jules Watson connected the Widefield area. Today's Fountain is a beacon of residential, industrial and commercial achievements; all three aspects of this town working in harmony is proof enough as to why Colorado loves its small town of Fountain.
